airbnb - telling the story

Photographing a holiday stay is not just about beds and bathrooms. It’s about the feeling.

When someone’s scrolling for their next stay, they’re already in holiday mode—imagining slow mornings, local coffee, salty hair and wine at sunset.

Your photos need to match that energy. The photos shouldn’t just show the space—they should sell the experience.

At Salten Creative, I don’t just photograph the walls and windows. I capture the mood, the light, the small touches that make it feel like a holiday. That way, potential guests can picture themselves there already, feet up, worries down. And when they can feel that sense of ease, that sense of belonging? That’s when they book.

Take a look a this collection of images shot last month for a beachfront Port Phillip Bay Airbnb. I immediately knew that a stunning sunset was a must for this property shoot.

We rescheduled from our original shoot date that was overcast with possible rain. Best decision! The actual shoot date was clear skies, and the perfect sunset over the bay. Making use of the incredible warm light that filled the apartment as the sun set, was my main priority.

Setting the dining table, overlooking the bay, with the orange hues sparkling through the wine glasses on the table. Opening the huge sliding doors out onto the balcony to give potential guests the experience of indoor and outdoor living.

Showcasing the incredible views and impressive design of the property, inviting potential guests in. Inviting them to hit “book now.”
